Sam Blatt is Amazon’s Economic Development Manager for the Southeast United States, covering Alabama, the Carolinas, Florida, and Puerto Rico. Sam is charged with advocating for the approval and development of Amazon’s fulfillment network in partnership with policymakers and community stakeholders. His work involves reducing time, cost, and uncertainty associated with projects, and ensuring Amazon is positioned to be a successful long-term community partner.
Sam has nearly 10 years of economic development experience most recently working as the Economic Development Director for the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, Miami-Dade County’s official economic development organization. Prior to his time at the Beacon Council, Sam was the Economic Development Manager for the City of North Miami, Florida where he led day to day economic development activities for the City.
As a certified economic developer, Sam has numerous accolades for his work in the economic development field. He was awarded the Small Business Administration’s Small Business Advocate of the Year for the State of Florida for his work in business recovery following Hurricane Irma; an IEDC Young Economic Developer of the Year, and a 40 under 40 Economic Development award winner.
Sam is an active member of United Way and serves as the liaison on multiple economic development boards and committees across the Southeast. Sam has a Master of Science in International Real Estate from Florida International University and an MBA from Johnson & Wales University. A native Hoosier, Sam graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from Indiana University.
