Miami-Dade Parks celebrates 17th annual G.E.M. Summer Arts Showcase

The Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade was proud to support the 17th Annual Girls Empowerment and Mentoring (G.E.M.) Summer Arts and Leadership Program, which culminated in its annual Summer Arts Showcase on July 23 at The Women’s Park.

This year’s theme, “G.E.M. – The Hidden Treasure of the Arts,” celebrated the creativity, confidence and accomplishments of girls participating in the six-week summer program. Through visual and performing arts, women’s history and leadership development, G.E.M. encourages girls to discover their creative voices, build confidence and develop their individual talents. The Summer Arts Showcase gave participants an opportunity to share what they learned and created throughout the summer with their families and the Miami-Dade Parks team.

The Parks Foundation supported the 2026 G.E.M. program through proceeds from the annual In the Company of Women Awards, helping expand opportunities for girls to learn, grow and express themselves through the arts.  The Foundation is proud to support Miami-Dade Parks programs like G.E.M. that create meaningful opportunities for young people and help develop the next generation of confident, creative leaders.
