In 2024 the Parks Foundation joined Zero Drownings Miami-Dade, a transformative drowning prevention partnership launched by The Children’s Trust, and including as partners Miami-Dade County Office of the Mayor, Miami-Dade Parks (the logistics hub of the initiative), Miami-Dade County Community Action and Human Services Department, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the American Red Cross South Florida Region, The Miami Foundation, the United Way, the Templeton Foundation, and other partners. Since its launch in October 2024 this groundbreaking water safety and swimming education program has delivered over 15,000 lessons to 2,546 Miami-Dade County preschool and kindergarten children from 66 public schools across 14 pools countywide. The Foundation provided support to Zero Drownings Miami-Dade by securing advanced software to expand program outreach.
