Drowning is the leading cause of death among children 1 to 4 years old in Florida, the highest rate in the nation. We are working hard to change that. With support from donors and corporate partners, the Parks Foundation provides learn-to-swim scholarships to children and families to learn water safety and how to swim in Miami-Dade Parks’ Learn2Swim program, the largest public swimming education program in South Florida. This goal is to keep Miami-Dade kids and adults safe in and around water at our parks and beyond.
